SpondonBassed Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I play just like Mark King (with both arms and a leg in a sling)... Quote
Number6 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I get by.....would like to be more technically competent but in reality i'm too lazy to work on it. Quote
scalpy Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 As close to whatever whoever is paying me wants. That reads really badly. Quote
ahpook Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016
More of a bass owner than a bass player
You've taken seizing hold of the means of production too far !! Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I was once told "your playing is beyond description", with hindsight I suspect this was not a compliment Quote
RockfordStone Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016
My aim is to be simple, effective and to get the best sound I can.
like this i am to be simple, my aim is to tie in with the drummer to keep a strong foundation for the lad instruments to work off. Quote
FinnDave Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016
I aim for somewhere between dog rough and just about acceptable
I'd happily settle for rough and acceptable to dogs (we seem to have far too many songs about dogs in our current set list!) Painy Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 A friend recently told me that he'd asked our (very good) lead guitarist what I was actually like as a bass player as he thought the band anyways sounded good but he didn't really know what to listen for as far as bass goes (basically a typical pub punter). I actually thought our guitarist's response was really quite complimentary. He said that I'm "a very natural player". I'll take that quite happily Quote
FuNkShUi Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 Like being french kissed by a horse is probably my favorite answer so far. But it seems we are quite a modest bunch in the most part..... Quote
DaytonaRik Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Hopefully enthusiastic, but quite flawed! Quote
Skol303 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 My hands are never capable of what I hear in my head. One day, I hope to rectify that. Quote
FinnDave Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 My head can never really understand what my hands have just done. I have to record our rehearsals so I can work out the bass parts I played! Quote
Painy Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016
being french kissed by a horse is probably my favorite
Nothing quite like a quote out of context..... Quote

Oopsdabassist Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Desperate......as in I'm desperate to get it right and sometimes it works! Quote
progben Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Like a kid after one too many blue smarties. Quote
ivansc Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Apparently I am "easily recognised from afar," which I suspect means I play to hard and too loud..... Quote
Lord Sausage Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 f***in incredible. I used to be a genius but I've calmed down a bit. Quote
