bubinga5 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) They are a real favorite of mine and my sister.I love Mark,s voice. Really really great bass playing from Paul Webb I think, just superb playing and is so for the music.the bridge on this record is where he really shines. Great creative playing. http://youtu.be/5ixRWvrkUHo Edited October 7, 2016 by bubinga5 Quote
bonzodog Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Great track. One of my favourites growing up. Not happy with their broadband service though 😀 Quote
visog Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Great band... not really focused on the bass. Just took in the whole vibe... Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Bought a Best Of after a friend told me I'd love them. Fantastic band, remembered I'd heard "Life's What You Make It" on a late night music channel many years ago but forgot about them entirely. Like Visog, just took it all in rather than listened to the specific components. Quote
darkandrew Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) An interesting bass related story here about the recording of one of the tracks on "It's My Life": http://www.philspalding.com/music-and-mayhem/story/talk-talk-its-my-life Edited October 7, 2016 by darkandrew Quote

molan Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I used to know Mark fairly well - it's a shame he struggled with live performance (see what I did there TT aficionados) and more or less stopped recording new material as well Quote
RickyV Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I have a couple of their albums but love Its My Life in particular with 'Tomorrow Started' being a stand out track for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQAOdpj7lm4 Quote
pnefc42 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 "It''s my life" is still a staple part of my 80s band set list. Always goes down well (although am often asked 'who was that one by'). Great fun to play too! 😀 Quote

He always looked a little that way, but I remember being unsure if it was that or just a really cool way of being slightly aloof. Not in a snotty way, just in a really 'into it' sort of way. Quote
ivansc Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) Best bang for the buck phone and internet out there. Love 'em. Been a fan since they were Onetel. Edited October 9, 2016 by ivansc Quote
