YouMa Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I think simply red stars is good, this is a real nice album anybody know anything about the ginger mancunians bassists.Im pretty sure i have a how to slap bass manual by the early german looking one who played on holding back the years. Quote
Josh Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I think somebody on here owns a bass that belonged to one of Simply Red's bassists, a Lakland if I remember correctly, hideously underrated whoever he is though. Quote
Josh Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) Just found a pretty good live version of SGS: You may hate Hucknall but the guy can sing. Ohhh and some tasteful playing going on here: Edited October 9, 2008 by Josh Quote

Kiwi Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I was in the Met Bar on Park Lane once and saw him on the pull. I thought he looked a bit creepy. Quote

Josh Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 (edited) Is the reason to why everyone hates Hucknall because he's ginger and has alot more money than all of us and can get around girls pretty easily? Or is it just trendy to not like him? Edited October 14, 2008 by Josh Quote
Buzz Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 ^^ I've never got the hating on Hucknall band wagon, I'd also like an explaination. Quote

The Funk Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Watch the video for Something Got Me Started above. It's a combination of the way he looks (the bits he can't help and the bits he can help) and the way he moves. He can sing and did write some decent tunes / lead a good band at one point though. Kiwi Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 judging from what I saw, he was just sleazy. Quote

Makes Lemmy look like George Clooney I hate him because of that 'Fairground' song...it just grates my gears. Somebody told me that 'Moneys too tight to mention' was a cover version which I never knew Edited October 14, 2008 by Bass_In_Yer_Face Quote
Hellrazor Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 The (live) bass player was/is a fella called Wayne Stobart. Not sure if he's still in 'em though. I went to school with him. He was a canny bass player even then! Quote
