coulterphil
Hi all here, i'm new here so plz bear with me.... I'm starting a trio cover group (drums/bass/guitar). I know trying make a trio sound full when lead breaks come can SOMETIMES be hard, so I had a thought, is there a pedal (either individual or a multi fx board) that you can turn down the dry input level and have harmonics and layers coming out to the desk. I've seen some videos where certain reverbs are nearly there and I think I could settle for one but just wondering is there a better idea. I'll be using a splitter box and one output is going direct to my amp and then D.i out to the PA desk,,, the other output from splitter will go to the fx pedal and then take up a separate channel on desk. is there such a gadget and if so will it cost the earth? I do need to keep expense down a little. any help is welcome P
xgsjx
You could use an octave pedal & play up the neck, add some overdrive, or add chorus to thicken the sound up (or even do all 3). I used to be heavy on the fx & use all the above and a couple of moog filters to get some glorious synth sounds. Now I don't use any effects & fill the sound out when the guitarist is soloing by playing chords or changing the style of what I play (depends on how we want it to sound). ambient
A long reverb will do it.
