Bass_Guardian
Sorry if this is a repost but just went on Guitar Guitar there and first advert that clocked my eye was new Sandberg Stock. Which led me to see this absolute beauty http://www.guitargui...01535008-438450 I think I'm in love! Bass_Guardian
Wouldn't say no to this either!
Lw.
The Thunderbird-esque one looks like it'd be a fun bass to gig with but damn, that's pricey!
Bass_Guardian
Aye a (big) bit out of my budget...might see if the Glasgow store has it. Would love to try it.
grayn
Love Sandbergs. Great value. That 48 model though, does seem a lot more expensive than in other places.
Veils
Disgustingly overpriced!
fretmeister
Disgustingly overpriced!
The hardcore aged ones have always been about that. Bass Direct have one at only £50 cheaper, and an un-aged at £1350 The aged process is expensive. Musicman20
Sandbergs are lovely but are no longer in the right price range. £1900 is insane.
Veils
Definitely not in the right price range. I don't even think they're made as well as they used to be. I wouldn't buy one of the newer shapes, they look kinda ugly in the pursuit of individuality. Just a personal preference, I'm sure they still tick a lot of boxes for a lot of people
karlfer
Interesting upper frets access.
Haha just noticed that. aka no upper fret access! To be fair, anything by the 5th fret is nosebleed territory

Fender haven't tried it on with Sadowsky or Lull, presumably because the price points are so different. So if it is true, it must be because Sandberg were perceived to be taking market share. M@23
I can see that being true with regards to Fender. I actually prefer the new shape, looks wise. Not played one, but my mk1 California was too heavy, the new shape seem a good bit lighter. Ultimately, that's why I didn't keep it. Surprised GuitarGuitar are stocking Sandberg given the two specialist shops carry them. For a chain though, they have some cool brands and not just the usual. grayn
I've played/owned old and new Sandbergs and if anything the newer ones are even better. And I definitely prefer the new body design. The new models are light and the most playable of basses.
uk_lefty
The 48 looks amazing. There's a great video on YouTube with a thorough review, apparently it's a great all rounder and even a good slap bass if that's your thing. Certainly one I would consider if I was in the market at that price point.
