Number6
So BC folks, My wife bought me a Fame jazz bass about a year back from DV247. These basses are apparently made by Mayones in Gdansk. My question to the world of BC is am i alone in owning one of these instruments or are their others out there who have one? AREA
Fame Basses are well known in Germany, as you can buy them at the Musicstore Professional in Cologne. I've never owned one, but there are many satisfied Owners. ahpook
There was a Fame bass on here that was for sale for ages. Quite Warwickesque.
Number6
Mine is a Deuce 4 in satin nitro yellow. Really well made and nice to play.
Cosmo Valdemar
I love the look of the Baphomet models. Wish I could try one out.
Byo
I used to borrow a "Warwick-ish" looking Fame bass years ago in one of my bands. Sound and finish were really good. Never seen one since then.

It comes fitted with SD QTR pound pups in standard jazz position. The finish is satin nitro and mine is canary yellow. I haven't weighed it but it feels a similar weight to my agathis bodied Squier Jazz. If you search the DV247 website they have them in a nice blue colour. Hope this helps
eloann
Hey, I got a used Fame Baphomet NTB a few years ago. I thought only musicstore.de carried them - until now. Very decent bass especially for the money I paid. I've swapped out the active MEC stuff (batteries suck - plus mine doesn't have a battery compartment). The neck is definitely chunkier than a Fender which I've grown to enjoy. Here's a cover I used it for https://www.youtube....h?v=1w722hIzEpY Edited October 18, 2016 by eloann

I stumbled on it by accident ( big 'ryche fan). Awesome tone! Bravo on some excellent covers. The Spock's Beard one is great!
zeebz82
I had a Fame baphomet 4. This "Warwick" comparison is basically because of the curves and shape of the horns and stuff, but its based on the Mayones basses (which is the same factory the FAME stuff comes from) Anyway, the one I got was really heavy, it must have been mahogony. And the neck felt a bit cumbersome. Couldnt tell you about the tone cos didnt get chance to crank it - I sent it back but glad I tried it, cos they look the biz. MindGoneBlank
Fame is Musicstore's own brand hence why they're only seen there. The reason they're sold by DV247 is that Musicstore acquired DV247 in a decidedly dodgy (and borderline illegal) move when DV247 went bust a few years ago. See here for more details: http://theeccentricblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/digital-village.html?m=1 Edited October 30, 2016 by MindGoneBlank

Graham
I always thought it funny Mayones made these, I'm surprised they have the production capacity as from my understanding they are a fairly small operation in terms of staff and workshop space.
