danbowskill Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) I have finally come to the long winded conclusion that i don't think i need a preamp . I have been through the usual suspects over the years...... sansamps,Vt bass's, Darkglass variants and many more! and in complete honesty the Pike XL has trumped them all in sound for me , it is beautiful and open sounding . if you skip past all the Drama associated with this and Darkglass there is a lengthy thred on talkbass (pages 20 onwards talk about how excellent it is) http://www.pikeamp.c...ducts/vulcan-xl A serious pedal that has its own awesome stamp sounds (please don't turn this into a ethical comparison whathaveyou thred). Recently purchased From Andy http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry3149961 After the same as what i paid £200.....now£190 .............£180!!posted to your door. Great condition but no original box. Happy to Answer any questions and as always open to trade offers Edited October 29, 2016 by danbowskill
danbowskill Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Bump Can't seem to find these anywhere bar the US? Open to trades, preferably a decent Octave but open the anything bass related Edited October 24, 2016 by danbowskill
danbowskill Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 with the switch of the color this has in effect two overdive circuits, top for a modern B7k (ish)tone and bottom for a Ampeg B15 type sound. very versatile .
danbowskill Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Although Spencer from 3leaf built the darkglass pedals in the USA ....this is not a direct clone of one!as he has tweeked this to suit what he felt was better EQ points. only had it a couple of weeks but willing to take £20 hit on it as i have my eye on something .......£180 posted to your door BUMP :-) Edited October 29, 2016 by danbowskill
lee650 Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 I'm imagining that this can be used as a clean preamp with the mix at full dry? Any idea if the EQ is similar the the 3 leaf Enabler but with an extra band and drive available? I do fancy this, but not in a position to buy until after Christmas 😕
danbowskill Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) I couldn't tell you having never used the enabler.....I'd also imagine it to be similar eq points as its from the same man?but yes it works lovely as a clean preamp Edited November 2, 2016 by danbowskill
