FuNkShUi
My AJR Singlecut that Andy from this very parish built. Don't need anything else. I have a Warwick Streamer, but that is now tucked away in the spare room in a heavy duty flightcase to keep it protected.
spongebob
Ricky 4001. I'm currently in the market for another bass, as I'm down to 1! ....and I don't like dragging my 4001 around the pubs for rarity reasons....
oldslapper
I have 1 bass, so that's my first & last choice. Fretless P.
Roger2611
Err, no; bass choice is fairly random, perhaps minutes before I leave the house. No favourites. I may choose one over another based on freshness of the strings, but they're all similarly set up, all play pretty much the same. It would be easier to list the ones that never get gigged!
Guilty as charged your honour!
leschirons
My choice is purely based on "Is it a dump? / next to a river? / full of drunks or kids? If yes, OLP 5 string Stingray copy If no, Status 5 or 6 string (whichever is nearer the door)
NancyJohnson
If I can add something else, isn't this thread just another opportunity for members to just brag about what they've got?? I'm actually a little distressed at the lack of photographic content so far.
Number6
I do love that in the main most players have a bit of a bass hierachy
BrunoBass
1. EBMM Stingray - all bases covered 2. Squier Dimension - in case No. 1 fails (hasn't happened yet).

paul_5
My personal preference: 1) Bitsa Fretless Jazz 2) Bitsa Fretted Jazz Metal band's preference: 1) Bitsa Fretted Jazz 2) Bitsa Fretless Jazz This is really easy with only 2 basses! Vinny
So i gig 4 basses... 4. Yamaha BB424x ( ... it's not been gigged yet) 5. Squier Modded Frank Bello Jazz ( ... not gigged yet and unlikely unless i had too)
erm...3, then.* Mine: 1 - BB415. Can't fault it. 2 - The Legendary Shrinking Violet. No explanation needed. 3 - BTB675. As nice to play as it is to look at, but we're just not bonding. *I'm putting the pedantry pixie to bed, now. josie
Depends on the venue and music style (as said above). If it's a new venue or I'm especially nervous I'll take the GMR 5 because I know her so well, she gives me confidence. Or if I know I'll use the B string. If it's a blues jam I'll usually take the Jazz 4 because she looks and sounds more in place. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to gig the GMR 5 Flow In, it would feel like turning up wearing an evening gown and diamonds. Looking forward to getting good enough on the fretless for that to be a gigging option.
lonestar
1. Us Jazz 2. Bitsa p bass 3. Peavey Tim Landers Or sometimesswap 1&2 depending in the band i'm playing with Usually alternate between all 3 of these at rehearsals to share the love (and string wear). Bolo
Just the SR5 for gigs. Nothing comes close. Edit: nothing I have or have played. Edited October 23, 2016 by Bolo
ahpook
I only ever use my Jack Casady with the folk band, and any other stuff gets a random pick of any of the rest. At the moment I'm using my 85 MIJ Jazz bass a lot.
Beer of the Bass
I don't have any basses that do the same job as each other, so it's not a question I can meaningfully answer. The fretted 5-string and the double bass come out on the gigs that need them, and the fretless 4-string stays at home.
alyctes
Fretless BEX 4 for the drummerless gigs. Not settled on one with the drummer yet, he's a bit of an innovation
12stringbassist
I either go active or passive for the evening, so: Active: 2 or 3 from: Warwick Streamer Chrome Tone or Warwick Thumb NT Hamer 12 string bass or Dean Rhapsody 8-string bass Fender Precision Lyte or BC Rich Mockingbird Passive: 2 or 3 from: One of 4 Ric 4003's or Retrovibe Rickenbastard Fender Jazz or Fender Precision or something else from down the pecking order... My Danelectro Longhorn gets a lot of use at the moment, due to its weight. Edited October 26, 2016 by 12stringbassist
