I have just sold the bass in question but i recently had a Darkglass Tone Capsule installed in an ABZ, sounded mega in that bass but quite coloured which is fine if that's what you're after.

Yup, depends what you are after. The Darkglass Tone Capsule was literally made for Dingwalls and Dingwall pickups, it has got its own tone but its a magnificent one. Not one if you want passive and active to sound the same when flat. Glockenklang is standard. I would look at Nordstrand too.

I''m familiar with the u-retro and have it in my Shuker jazz. But the Darkglass sounds interesting, how have you guys wired it ?

5 knob config, Volume - Dingwall Switch - Bass - Lo Mid - Hi Mid

I also had series/parallel switches for each pickup installed at the same time, huge expansion of the original passive sound.

Noise Works in Coventry, he works with Bass Direct and is basically the unofficial UK Dingwall tech. Great work and well priced too.
