chris_b Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I've just noticed Phil Chess died a few days ago. With his brother, Leonard, he kick started rock music by employing Willie Dixon as a song writer and record producer and then signing the strongest roster of artists, including Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry to the Chess record label. This was ground zero for modern music. Sad news. Quote
silverfoxnik Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Wow.. Sad news as you say, but what a legacy! RIP Quote
essexbasscat Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I used to own more than a few Chess records, as you say chris, there at the start. Got to respect him for that RIP and thank you Quote
