TheGreek Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Clearly not as good as the ones Andyjr1515 builds
Sparky Mark Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016
Trades?
Please PM me; I could always be persuaded but a straight sale is preferred.
Sparky Mark Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 (edited)
Clearly not as good as the ones Andyjr1515 builds
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Andy's builds look fantastic but moving the bridge back so far just makes the top frets unplayable for me. I'm sure anyone that has tried to build an EB3/SG style bass will have learnt to appreciate the original lightweight design (including it's quirks) and the skill of luthiery in them. Pastor Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 If I hadn't recently bought another Tbird I'd have this no bother
Sparky Mark Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016
What scale are these?
30.5 inches.
Wiggybass Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I bought one of these last year on spec - I'd never played one - and it's become one of my favourites which I use exclusively for my 50s / 60s band. It's light, very easy to play and has that plonky vintage sound that works so well for the older material. The shorter scale length means that you lose some definition on the open E but you get used to that. I paid £600 and to be honest I think it was a steal!
Sparky Mark Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Thanks Wiggybass. I couldn't agree more. I have two of these, this one being the better condition, that's why I am selling. I use the bridge pickup which has plenty of punch and definition full up to complement the classic warmth of the neck pup. Edited December 21, 2016 by Sparky Mark
Sparky Mark Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Thanks mikel. Unfortunately my awful mobile phone photography doesn't do justice to this beautiful bass.
