bubinga5
I have a friend who is having a birthday party on Saturday. He's asked me to bring the bass. The guy who is entertaining is an established pianist. A conundrum. I have no problem playing, or are scared of jamming with anyone. Ive been jamming for 15 years with good and bad. But I feel a little uncomfortable turning up, rolling in the amp etc etc.
chris_b
Leave it all in the car and have a chat with the pianist. Suss out his thoughts and take it from there.
ambient
Just get the pianists contact details, and drop him an email, or look him up on Facebook or whatever. Just say your friend has asked you to play bass, are you sure the pianist isn't expecting you anyway ?
stingrayPete1977
I'm reading it that the pianist is the friend and the entertainer?
lojo
Make contact with him and ask if he can give you the heads up on any tracks he might want you in on Nothing wrong with a bit of prep before an unrehearsed party jam
