sblueplanet Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Found a 360 animation of Sting's 54' precision and grabbed some pics. On the back of the bass the finish is almost completely worn away. I wonder just how much maintenance an old bass like this really needs given he plays it constantly. Quote
luckman67 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Nice looking bass just read Sting's interview, in this months BGM. Quote
Telebass Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 He usually plays Custom Shop replicas with hum-cancelling pickups. Quote
bubinga5 Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Didn't he play mainly jazz basses with the Police.? Quote
Delberthot Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 The ones I remember are the Seinberger stick and the most famous for me are the precision fretless ones - one red and one natural if I remember rightly Quote
felixxx Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 He also played Ibanez Musician and I remember white Spector that he played during Synchronicity tour. Quote
Bigwan Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Around "Ten Summoners Tales" time he was alternating between a 60's jazz and a graphite necked (Moses I believe) precision bitsa. Haven't seen him play anything but a 50's P (or replica thereof) in quite a while... Other than a lute of course... Quote
Muzz Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Let's not forget the red fretless 8-string Hamer Explorer thing...I hope he collected his bet money for that one... Quote
Geek99 Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 i did see him playing a natural / maple / tort precision a while back Quote
police squad Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 (edited)
He usually plays Custom Shop replicas with hum-cancelling pickups.
No he doesn't. Danny (his bass tech) did present him with a custom shop replica but he prefers the old one you're right about the pickup though. Its a SD stacked thing wired in parallel, (same as in my Sting replica built by Bravewood) Edited November 3, 2016 by police squad Quote
