Peter May has been Cliff's drummer since 1988, I'm pretty sure it's him on the ROB record. I met Pete at a studio I worked at as house engineer in the mid-80s and thought him a pretty extraordinary player (and all-round top bloke), one of those drummers who can play metronomically accurately or with as much feel as you could want.

Googling around, I found this interview from a few years ago about the various work he's done with emphasis on West End gigs - an interesting read and insight into that world.

Who's in his band for this album. This song has great feel (I don't really like the lead playing)
I've googled it but I just can't find who is in the band, or at least on the single

It might possibly be some Nashville Studio players.

oh dear, is this really the same bloke that made one of the best British Rock and Roll records (Move It) it's been downhill ever since, his voice is just too damned polite

Only 5000 odd views?

Am I looking at the right one?

If so it says something about his audience & their grasp of modern technology.

He might sound polite but his diction is, and always has been, very clear. At least you can hear the words. I like that.

To be fair, Mr Richard's voice (and demeanour) has always been polite. Even on 'Move It' the Cliff-ster sounds like a bashful, well-spoken schoolboy soliciting directions to the nearest post office.

Let us never forget that Lord Cliffington's polite wholesomeness has been the foundation stone of his unfeasibly lengthy career; he is just safe enough to appeal to those people who collect model cottages, clip pictures of kittens from the newspaper and become unmanned at the prospect of loud music in confined spaces.

Indeed, were the soi-disant Bachelor Boy to commence one of his concerts with a shouty exhortation to 'Kick out the jams, motherf*ckers!' the profanity would fly far above the heads of his audience for never before would they have encountered said epithet.

If Mr Richard's milquetoast approach to rock and roll meets the needs of a significant minority of record buyers and concert goers, who are we to gainsay them their simple pleasures? There's a place for everything and everything in its place. :)
absolutely, I'm not saying Sir Cliff shouldn't do what he does just because I don't like it just expressing a personnel opinion, as someone else said on this forum recently, there's no such thing as good and bad music just music I like and music I don't like
