Alfie Noakes
I'm very interested in a German-made Warwick Streamer with a bolt-on neck, only it's one of them there baseball bat necks :-( which I really don't like. Can anyone recommend a luthier in the West Midlands area who could successfully trim and slim the neck somewhat, or is this a fool's errand of the highest order? Is it best to leave well alone and shop elsewhere?? Help!!!
FuNkShUi
I don't, but would it not be worth waiting for one from the periods they weren't like a baseball bat? I promise, it'll be worth the wait!
Kev
I wouldn't buy a bass only to do such significant work to it unless it was very, very cheap. Why not just wait for an early nineties or 2009 onwards Warwick, which have the slimmer neck?
Manton Customs
Feel free to PM me for more info if you go ahead. If it's an oil finish (as Warwicks often are) then it's not a big job to slim it down a little.
dyerseve
Hi Alfie, im based in Sedgley and did this exact thing to my Vantage. I've worked on a few warwicks in my time too. As stated above, as long as it's an oil finish it's not too much trouble.
DrDrill
I've shaved my LX neck down, so it's eminently doable.
Alfie Noakes
Thanks guys - lots of positive stuff there, so I think I'll go for it, but get a grown up to do the clever stuff.
