TheGreek
Wanted one of these back in the 80s - ridiculously priced then - this one is £600 BIN http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roland-G77-White-Midi-Bass/322312587397?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40392%26meid%3D9d0371bce3d045f28bbd00eb06ab1c13%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D232130205138
ash
Ah 'the Dalek's handbag' as it was fondly nicknamed ... utterly useless without its foot pedal and controller of course.
BigRedX
Ah 'the Dalek's handbag' as it was fondly nicknamed ... utterly useless without its foot pedal and controller of course.
It's not utterly useless without the synth unit, but it is reduced to being just a weirdly shaped J-style bass. Which of course isn't really worth anything like £600. ash
...and therefore utterly useless as a bass guitar synth I actually had one a few years back, the weird lead with pins didn't work well but I bought it cheaply off eBay. It played ok and had a massive case with very pink lining. The nicest thing was that it came with 4 packs of LaBella flatwounds that were probably worth more than the bass. I sold it on and kept the strings!
ash
Interesting article here about them .... http://www.joness.com/gr300/G-77.html
Burns-bass
I had the whole kit (controller and synth unit). I actually sold it to the legend that is Phil Oakey of Human League fame who then used it on tour. If anyone wants Phil's autograph he attached with the cheque for the item, just send me a PM. To day, nobody has ever thought it worthwhile. I like the Human League though.
Bassassin
As far as I know, these were Fujigen builds, I think Roland promoted their various guitar synth controllers as a collaboration with Greco, a brand exclusively built by Fujigen at that point. I did think they were sort of cool back in the day, and in a way I still do... Not at £600, though.
