[/quote] Very unsung!! He was even airbrushed out of the FAME studios documentary that they made a couple of years ago! Not even mentioned once. He was on many of the hits that came out of FAME studios in the 60's. I believe he was the band leader in the studio on many of the old soul hits. He wrote the bass line for Memphis Soul Stew. Buzzy
+1 for Tommy Cogbill, all his bass lines are like a lesson in how to get it right. I love the bass on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk15q5paR1k
chris_b
I haven't heard this one before. Fantastic Cogbill bass line. Love the Roger Collins version.

There is a 70's Swedish documentary on Youtube - will post when I'm on a computer.

Mickeyboro
Fame studios is in the middle of a shopping plaza - seems quite surreal. And Muscle Shoals Sound Studios is in a trading estate - dunno what I expected to see, but...

They say never meet your heroes. I think the same probably goes for these iconic places Michael.

ivansc
So many unsung heroes in Memphis and Nashville. Probably the same in other towns, but the sheer number of hugely talented players there are in that corridor between Davidson County and the Arkansas border is scary.
