aidanhallbass
Hi, I've found a status energy 5 wood neck for sale near me and the seller is asking £280. Its is probably early 90's and is pretty road worn, anyone know if this is a good deal for one of these ? I've never ventured into the world of status basses but thought it would be a suitable back up 5'er.
dyerseve
I dont think you can go wrong with a Status bass at that price.
Rich
Unless there are huge holes in it or bits hanging off it, that's a great price. Personally I'd take the seller's arm off.
fretmeister
I had a wood neck 6 string about 10 years ago. It was a very fine bass.
dyerseve
I have a wood necked Series 1 5 string and it is by far the best neck and best balanced bass I have owned - and I have owned a lot of basses in my time. The wooden necks do have graphite reinforcement rods in them so the necks are rock solid but still lightweight Edited November 8, 2016 by dyerseve
ebenezer
I had a status shark bass which had the wooden graphite- reinforced neck and have to say, great bass with no dead spots and stayed in tune really well
visog
I have a wooden neck Shark pro active and it's a great bass with a killer action. Bit of slap machine - you won't get much dub reggae out of it but that's the electronics. So £280 for a similar if not better appointed bass sounds very good. Check its integrity carefully though.
