Anyone have a 50s Precision bass Lacquer... with a difference...

Ok so after deliberating a while I've just bought from 'Stratophere' in America a black 50s P bass lacquer body, and a road worn jazz rosewood neck.

At the moment I gig with my fiesta red road worn P bass with J bass neck, perfect for me; so I wanted another one like this, and the thought of having a nitro lacquer type that would ware nicely over time appealed to me, so I went ahead.

Just wondering if anyone has already got a P bass 50s lacquer, and what they think about it - and has anyone got any experience buying from Stratosphere?

I've bought a couple of things from that place, most recently a Mustang bass neck. No issues, smooth transaction etc. Needs must, as they say.

Gotta say though, while I understand why they're doing what they do, it does leave a particularly bad taste in my mouth when they start selling off stuff that is going to cost a small fortune to resurrect, things like the Gibson set neck stuff.

I've bought from Stratosphere a few times over the years. They aren't the cheapest but you will get what you want.

Coincidentally I had a Jazz with a P-bass neck because I prefer a wider neck.

My current P-bass is a 50s one but it's a Japanese Fender one so the neck is narrower than the Mexican 50s ones and I don't believe the lacquer is any more or less than any other bass I own.
