22" scale basses

Does anyone know where I can find a cheap small bass for my son ?
You used to be able to find them a few years ago.

I've done the usual google search etc but not much joy.

I can find 3/4 scale basses without a problem but looking for smaller than that

Any ideas ?

I have a Westfield Mini-Precision. Interesting beast. Although it is about 24-inch scale it uses regular size pick-up and bridge so the string spacing is the same as a full scale instrument. Currently strung with flats, it sounds really good. Westfield were a Scottish company based in East Kilbride. They went out of business in 2013 however instruments regularly appear on Ebay although I have yet to see another like mine.

What about the various bass uses that are for sale, there are solid bodied versions if you don't want the so called "acoustic" bodied versions. There is a shop in Bournemouth that sells all things use, I'll try and find the name and post it for you.

Try Southern Ukelele Store in Bournemouth. They have a solid body Mahola for £289. They are part of a shop called Music is Life.

Tanglewood Elf EB-18 - they are discontinued but come up on ebay from time to time. 19.75 inch scale length, perfect for small hands. Takes me back, I bought one for my son when he was 7, where did that 14 years go?
