Just back from the Bash - despite a false start when I went to unload on arrival only to open the boot and find one of our cats had stowed away, so had to return to Chester to take the little s**t back. Thanks to Kev for organising. My first Bash but definitely not my last. Splendid people and a impressive selection of mouth watering gear. I'm a convert! Thanks all.

I have a great time at the NWBB today and I will upload some pictures when I suss out where they have disappeared to on my Macbook Pro. It was great to meet such a lovely bunch of people and their fabulous gear. I came away with some serious GAS. Thanks to Kev, Lurksalot, for organising it and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Hello to all I spoke to and those I didn't. Kev - thanks for organising, appreciate it.

My first outing as a bassist and I end up as the drummer :)

Yeah but a good one buddy. Only had to punch in the info once.

Well done guys and sorry for my no show. I was traveling this morning (back home from Belgium) and had hoped to get back in time but it didn't work out that way. Gutted :( And very tired!

Keen to see some pics if anyone has some to share...

Definitely a blast. As i'd imagined, i came away with serious gas for a MM sabre.

Also, i left my stands there like an idiot. Did someone grab them? Is was a silver one and a 3 way. I'd greatly appreciate getting them back

If you remember where my place is you can pop round for them

So, loaded the cabs, amp, bag & stands into the boot. First bass loaded onto back seat, second bass being loaded into front seat footwell then I discovered this.

Not a happy bunny. Played a gig in a rough hole last night band there was glass on the car-park. Thought I'd got away with it as the drive home was fine! Going to be spending the afternoon sorting this out now. Have fun everyone, I was really looking forward to this.

If your short of funds from today to cover the costs, please let me know and i'll happily transfer my £10.

Thats a shame , I hope you got it sorted, OK Funds are OK , finished up with a few pennies over which we can put to the next one.

Ugh. I am going to have to back out due to a family situation. I am really sorry (and gutted). To add insult to injury I had to watch Wales lose while waiting with the injured party on A+E. Ho hum. If there is any hint of a loss I will chuck £10 into the coffers.

I hope all is OK Owen, funds should be fine , thanks for the offer .

i would just like to add that zootchaser was very lucky to leave without a large bump on his head and a missing bass. I fell in love with his Zoot today.

You can keep the leftover from my payment, you deserve it for getting the whole event organised.

As you mentioned, next time would be interesting to see some "workshops" if the peoplw going were interested.

Yep - all sorted now thanks to Kwik Fit in Bolton. Both front tyres needed replacing (puncture in drivers side & wear on the passenger side). Puncture caused by a screw not glass as first thought.

Just had a look at the pictures - looks like you had a great day. Gutted to have missed it. See you all next time.

Me too, great to meet you all and thanks to the organisers once more.

Just to set the record straight the bass jam was not my work, I was hiding behind a pillar.

Many thanks lurksalot and funkgod, excellent afternoon! Venue worked well, staff were very pleasant (please pass on my thanks to them if you get the chance), just enough catering laid on, good call.

And thanks to Bassman Sam for the pictures, I meant to take some and completely forgot, too busy looking and listening and talking :)

And to Ribbetingfrog for getting me (and six basses) there and back.

And to everyone who agreed with me that GMRs are really rather nice bass guitars.

And to everyone who brought other kinds of really rather nice bass guitars to show off and share.

If we have the next one same time next year I'll hijack it as my birthday party again and bring more cake, but I don't want any left for me to take home next time! (Ok, there wasn't much...) :)

Mrs H., arms folded, glaring at me as I moved the kit out of the hall: "Have you bought another bass? HAVE YOU BOUGHT ANOTHER BASS?"

I hadn't. But I want a Wal, and a Dingwall, and a Tune Maniac, and a Daisy Rock . . .

Josie. I forgot to mention your beautiful GMR single cut. It must be up there with one of the most stunning basses I have every had the pleasure to see. Oh, and next time, I'll share the cost of the cakes. My birthday was on the 9th.

Happy (slightly late) birthday! Next time you can share the embarrassment of being sung "Happy Birthday" to as well :)

Well, if I have got this right, you should be able to click on the link below to see my really bad photography of today's events. You will the gist though.

If I learned one thing today (and I learned many) it's that the datestamp on Bassman Sam's camera is more than 4 years out. :D
