Polytone amp cuts out

I`ve got a Polytone Minibrute IV amp (suppose someone has to). It sometimes takes a few flicks of the on off switch to get any sound out of it, although the power light comes on every time, but now it keeps cutting out even when I`m using headphones (thought it might be shaking a bad connection at first). Not sure of its age but its quite an old 15" 100w solid state amp, no valves.

Any ideas.

Sounds like either a wiring fault or a dodgy power transformer. Probably best to take a trip to your local amp repair man, rather than poking about inside.
