Isn't that the case for all sales? The only difference on Black Friday is the businesses take advantage of the panic-buying that goes on as you "buy now or miss out"

I've just got £15 off a new Boss guitar amp (I wanted a solid state clean pedal platform with acoustic ability....and it does that AND it goes down to 0.5W!) just by asking if they could do a Black Friday type deal.

It's not an expensive amp and I didn't want it to be...

Also, Amazon have some awesome Star Wars t-shirts in all sizes (well a lot of them)...including some weird designs. Smashing Pumpkins t shirt for £7. More than 3 and you get another 10% off and free delivery over £20.

I really dont trust the price reductions. You get inflated RRP that no one ever sells it for, and puts a lower price which is roughly what it was selling for 6 months ago. There are probably bargains out there, but not that many

This. So pointed it's worth saying twice!

Minor caveat: there will be people who use it as an opportunity to get something they've genuinely been after at a knockdown price, but we all know that most won't...

Agree with Bubinga5 and Lefty. I was tempted to join in with the Boycott Black Friday movement, but I do actually have to buy quite a lot of groceries as I'm having a friend to stay for the weekend! :-)

But other than that, I won't be buying anything.
