eggi
Hello Guys, I just bought some D'addario strings 55 - 110. Suprisingly the 110 e-string was not much thicker than my old 100 e-string. Alle the other strings from the new set were way thicker than my old 45 - 100 set. The new e-string even seems just as thick as the new a-string (110 to 90). Is this normal? Or did i perhaps get a set of strings with a wrong e-string? Does anybody has any experience with those strings? BR Edited February 4, 2017 by eggi
Silvia Bluejay
Take a sliding gauge, measure the thickness of the E string, and see if it's actually a 110 as the pack says. Your fingers alone might not be able to feel the difference with your old, thinner set. Do the same for the A string if that feels weirdly thin too. verb
I use 55-110, it should be obvious which is the E, perhaps you have the wrong string in the new pack. As Bluejay suggested, measure the string thickness, if it's incorrect contact the seller or D'addario UK.

verb
Looks like its being sorted now, but I remembered the ball ends are colour coded, the E is plain brass if I remember correctly.
