Sale due to overspending :P, consider this a project.

Reasons to buy.

Very light weight body (bass weighs 7lb 13oz).
Unusual 'burst.
Cheaper than getting a proper respray.
Slab body style.
Finally use some of thoses bits from the Man Cave Spares Drawer

I bought this because I'd seen a US Precision in these colours in Howard's (Bass Doc) in the early 80's. And lusted for this 'burst ever since (hey, each to his/her own, don't judge).
Plan was gold plate, tuners, bridge etc. I was happy to replace the neck as well, but it's not actually that bad.
Pick up was going to be a Steve Harris.
The above would have given me a very playable lightweight bass, with power and bling.

Whilst it is playable, it is a "beginners bass".
Tuners. Not great one of them is very stiff, but they all get there.
Frets. At this standard would always benefit from levelling.
Pick up. Fair but the tone rotary does bugger all.

In summary, I could actually gig this bass as it stands, but the gig float is now low, due to over spending. So I'm not going to fork out £150 + on better quality hardware and pup at this moment.
If it doesn't go, the project will recommence next year.
Anyway, £75 collected close-ish to Wigan, £90 couriered UK.
PLEASE, SOLD AS PROJECT. Don't expect Custom Shop!!
Feedback below.
Thanks for looking,
cheers,
Karl.

The first question that came up was "is it standard Fender dimension neck?"
I hadn't got that far with the project, assumed it was, and had actually decided I wasn't going to change the neck anyway.
The short answer is it isn't quite standard Fender fit.
The long answer is pasted below.

"Bear in mind all measurements are with a 6" steel ruler and poor eyesight.

Nut, 41.5mm

Neckplate. Both near as dammit the same as far as my eyes can see.
Distance between centre of screw holes;
Length Cheapo 52mm Am Special Precision 52mm
Width C 38 mm Am S 38mm

Neck width at back of neck where it joins the body.
Again same
C 60 mm Am S 60 mm

Depth of body neck well where body meets neck
Again the same, although this point is a little further into the body on the Am Spec, but that makes no difference.
C 16 mm Am S 16 mm.

THE DIFFERENT BIT.
Distance from top of fretboard, to bottom of neck well, where the body fully meets the neck (between frets 15 and 16 on both).
Cheapo 25MM Am Special Precision 22 mm

SO, by my reckoning, a standard Fender neck would sit 3 mm lower at this point, which may cause saddle height issues?????

Length from where neck fully meets body between frets 15 and 16
C 98 mm Am S 98 mm.

THE OTHER DIFFERENT BIT.
Width at 20th fret
C 61 mm Am S 63 mm "

The conversation between myself and the most splendid questioner has not been included, to protect the innocent
