seymourfluid Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Hi, Just bought a Hofner CT club bass in dark cherry and love it. Given that I spent years trying to find the right strings for my MusicMan sterling, anyone have one of these and any recommendation on the right strings to use? People keep telling me to use flatwound but I hated them on the MM. Cheers, Mark Thomas Quote

If so I you shouldn't let them put you off flats. I use Thomastic JF344 Infeld (JF324 on short scale basses) I reckon they'd be good on on a hofner. Quote
ARGH Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) The correct set for a Hofner is/are Pyramid strings....Best flats on the planet, its what The Frisco sound was based on in the late 60s http://www.pyramidstrings.com/st-guitar.html Edited October 13, 2008 by ARGH Quote
seymourfluid Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 Thanks for the responses. I was going to buy a few sets and play so I’ll get a set of each. Quote
