Who uses a booking agent? Can you recommend any?

My covers band does pretty well. We're looking at 30 to 40 gigs already for next year but I'd happily pass the torch on for someone else to get us gigs. Enter; booking agent. We want to get in the club scene for 2017.

Anybody use them/absolutely won't use them?
We're from Leeds if it makes any difference.

If Starlight are still going, they used to get me more money than I could ever persuade people to pay me off my own efforts/

Make sure you know what the gig pays. If the agent tells you a gig pays 2k, if should be 2k not finding out it was 3k when it's to late

Also being at the bottom of their list of bands they handle is not great
