leftybassman392
She's 14 (when she made this vid at least - 17 now I think), she's French, and (there's really no easy way to say this, but) she's a girl. In spite of all this, I reckon she's pretty good... I'm interested to know what others think, but before being overly critical ask yourself "what was I doing when I was 14?" She has her own YouTube channel if anybody wants to check it out. Edited November 24, 2016 by leftybassman392
Ah. So it's not just me then. I'm hoping it's just a poor mix and that it sounded better in the studio... If I had to criticise, it's that it all comes over a bit one-dimensional - Malmsteen, Vai, van Halen, fair enough; but her take on the Moonlight Sonata, for example, could (IMHO of course) so easily have been done differently, and I'd love to see her take on something from Guthrie Govan. Still, she's still very young even now so plenty of time to broaden her horizons, and boy can she play! Barking Spiders
I read she began learning at six so with regular daily practice I'm not so surprised she can play like this. After all there are hundreds of young musical prodigies on different instruments from all over the world. I wonder if she can play jazz or flamenco Edited November 25, 2016 by Barking Spiders

The young lady is probably smart and gifted. Meaning understanding scales and how to use them came to her a lot easier than most. She "got it" at an early age. Monkey Steve
A mate's band had an at that time 15 year old girl as their guitarist a few years ago, and she was miles ahead of them all in terms of talent. We did a couple of gigs with them supporting and what was noticeable was that she had a lot of talent but little "taste" to begin with - had clearly spent time on her excellent technique, but was lacking in experience in how to apply it, so came across as being a little "cold" and mechanical. But she came along very quickly - getting out, playing gigs, mixing with other bands - two years later and she was a match for anybody (and shortly after that the band was looking for a new guitarist as she had dumped their arses and moved on to bigger and better things)
ern500evo
I've seen her doing a cover of Paganini's 5th Caprice, the piece Steve Vai played at the end of the Crossroads movie, and have to say it's pretty damn impressive!
ivansc
My first band the drummer was 7, trumpet 15, clarinet 17, me on banjo and my mate Dave on trombone both 10. As far as I know I am the only one still playing and sadly I have never been even close to that sort of level of technical virutousity. Too lazy and like "performing" too much I guess. Oh and probably because they all have a zillion time more natural ability than me. My actual excuse is "I would never want to play like that"
Guest bassman7755
Tina s is incredibly talented but I wish she would look like she was enjoying herself rather than looking like someone taking an accountancy exam.
