As part of the plan to single handedly boost the economy by spending as much money as I can I have just received this beauty from Mark at Bass Direct...

Its a lovely Nordy VJ5 - Specs:
• Ash Body
• Salmon Pink Nitro Finish
• Bird's Eye Fingerboard
• Blocks and binding with vintage tint
• Pearloid Pickguard
• Nordstrand Big Singles pickups
• New Nordstrand 2 band eq with passive tone
• Nordy "N" Gig Bag

Lovely playing instrument and very well put together and massive tones. The new Nordy 2 band preamp is really flexible.

Can't wait to get gigging with this and will report back later....

Seems a waste of a good tortoise, especially if you're going to cover it with a white pearloid covering anyway.

Yea I heard that the GB has had a hard life. The first owner neglected it allegedly
I played this today - Lovely - certainly kicks that old GB into touch........

Both fantastic basses - Huge sounding and really easy to play.

Interesting to see which one becomes the favourite after a few gigs through the Aggie and/or the IP!

You need some decent gear Steve............ :)

I was at Bass Direct when birdy picked this up - amazing looking instrument and sounded so fantastic.

I think it looks a lot pinker in person than the pic shows..

Maybe but tempted to hold onto it for the time being. Although if my old Jazz doesn't sell soon I may well get that back and then the Lakland would be surplus to requirements.
I'd be really interested in hearing how this compares to the DJ5 - I'm considering going for a nordy mid next year once my career dev loan is out of the way.
I see you are in Brighton, I may be down there in a few weeks or so to see Bernie at GB so shouldn't be a problem to bring the Nordy possibly. Will keep you updated.
