silverfoxnik
Hmm... Not sure I can make this one as I have friends down that weekend from Londinium!! Might need to borrow a cunning plan from WalMan as the opportunity to meet Herbie Flowers is way too good to miss.

I went to the last one though. The day itself is pretty so, so... but I have to say, it's well worth going just to see Herbie Flowers. Very funny man and his work shop is very interactive and entertaining! - he is a true legend... he'll even let you have a go on his old, old, beat up Jazz! It was a lovely day last time... an excuse for GB porn in the garden... (complete with Great British bulldog...) Hopefully those who go will have good weather. Mind you, I am currently sitting in Worthing and the weather at the moment isn't looking too hot. Even the seagulls aren't coming out to play... In particular, the hour that I was privileged enough to spend time in the company of Herbie Flowers, was just fabulous. That man is absolutely amazing! To hear his stories about Serge Gainsbourg, David Bowie & Lou Reed, Henry Mancini, Motown and Stax session players etc, etc for just £3 was unbelievable. If you ever get the chance to catch him doing this - with his 1955 tuba, his 1960 Jazz Bass and a wonderful old double bass - do it because it's really inspirational..
