MacDaddy Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) Pics coming soon, but today was delivered my Snapdragon folding bass, and I gotta say 'I'm loving it!' :-) Spec here: http://www.snap-drag...-e-bass-4-p.asp I'm taking it to rehearsal on Saturday, so we'll see if it's good for metal Edited December 19, 2016 by MacDaddy Quote
ZilchWoolham Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Reminds me of Pete Shelley's broken Starway guitar! Quote
NoirBass Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) I'm seriously considering one of these, can you post any audio as the only demo I can find the player is playing over the neck. Would love to hear what it actually sounds like. Edited November 29, 2016 by NoirBass Quote

MacDaddy Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 A few details. The string alignment is not too good when the neck is extended, but this can be adjusted. Also the neck needs a bit of relief. Will give it a bit of a set up during the week. Quote

bazzbass Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 most interesting, moreso for noodling while travelling. I can't imagine intonation would be very stable, but that's not why you bought it I bet Quote
uk_lefty Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 That's one of those crazy things that will be worth loads in forty years time as a novelty bass collectible. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I've seen this on an upright bass but not a bass guitar. Quote
MacDaddy Posted December 4, 2016 Author Posted December 4, 2016 It didn't make it to rehearsal, but I've tweaked away and sorted the alignment and neck. Not sure about the strings. A couple of them don't even have one complete wind around the tuning peg. I've not owned a short scale bass before, so I'm not sure if the string floppiness is normal? Quote
yorks5stringer Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Ideal for a 'BenFolds' cover band... Quote

It certainly has an inherent floppyness to the string tension, particularly if you are used to a standard 34" scale instrument. I guess that's the payoff for such a portable bass.
