Uk university gig scene

Hi all,
some advice needed,
friends of mine who are a young original band would like to break into the Uk university gigging scene,
does anyone have any advice or contacts,
the band is called Cider wasps,
and they are not too shabby,

Nice.

I'd join the Unsigned Guide and get the student union contacts for uni's from their live listings section. Really good, only £4.99 a month and has sorted me out with endless contacts for promoters, radios, press etc which is really handy for someone like myself in a young originals band.

You can go direct but its alot of work. I have done it a few times though.

Worcester student union dive bar is worth a search
Shefield worth wile too, buti have no contact

You just need to ask for the entertainments manager.

In some uni's the venue is controlled/ run by an independent promoter, you might need their details too.

Don't expect much money for the evening, but it will be good for networking.

On one occasion I booked the student venue on campus and put on an evening of bands.
