Thunderbird Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Always been a huge Korg fan and loved the pitch black but sold off all my effects including the tuner and have been through a few others such as Planet Waves various Korg models a TC and a few headstock tuners and various Boss models but recently I acquired a Seiko ST900 it is a real old school tuner with the bouncing needle but it is great and tunes bang on so this is my new number one just wondered what you guys liked best Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ghost_Bass Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Korg Pitchblack going strong in the pedalboard for the last 10 or so years. My eldest tuner is a Seiko ST-747, i've got it in the mid 90's and it still works and tunes perfectly in pitch. Harder to destroy than Trace Elliot gear! T-Bay Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 I use the zoom b3 but also have a cheap joyo one and a korg. The Korg is the one I don't really use. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Woodinblack Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 I have the B3 and the Polytune clip, but what I tend to use is the one built into the RH450 as it is always there. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
TrevorR Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Polytune and Snark (with a TU2 that the Polytune replaced in 3rd place). Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kodiakblair Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Korg GA-1. Had it good few year and less hassle to use than the Behringer rack tuner. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Painy Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 (edited) When I've used our guitarist's Pitchblack in the past I've found it didn't pick up my low B without having to play the 12th fret harmonic. My Snark pedal tuner on the other hand picks up the low B (and all the other notes too of course) perfectly every time. Nice clear display too. bazzbass Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 TC Polytune 2 pedal and Polytune Clipon fast , accurate , easy to read big display. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lojo Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 I've got a pitch black pedal or a built in markbass , both great depending what I take Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Bolo Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 TC polytune mini the individual strings tune great but the poly is rubbish. Nice small footprint on the board though. Ashdown Bass-o-meter good tuner but huge heavy and salmon colored 😁 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
pete.young Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 Korg DT-10, that's a proper tuner, and a TC Electronic Polytune clipon. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Rich Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 I have three that see regular use:

the built-in one on my Pod XT Live;
my trusty old Korg DT-7;
a cheapo clip-on that does ok with all strings apart from low B.
The Korg is the only one I use for anything delicate such as setting intonation. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Pinball Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 Digitech Harwire HT6? Really clear on stage, quick and accurate. I can check all my 5 strings with one swipe Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Vinny Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 Love my Planet Waves one, it's my gigger and if I need to do intonation I use it in 'strobe'. I also bought the Reverb one, which now lives on the bridge of my EUB 'cos it can't read a 'B' (unless it's in guitar setting in which case it can't make its mind up) Still, can't really grumble for 2 quid! Stylon Pilson Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 I've been using a Korg Pitchblack for many years and feel no strong urge to replace it. One of those multi-string ones might be cool, but I've never tried one out to see whether they cut the mustard. S.P. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
HMX Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 (edited) +1 for the Korg Pitchblack. Hasn't let me down live (or in the bedroom! ). Edited December 8, 2016 by HMX Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Monkey Steve Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 Had a TU2 that got trashed at a gig, now on to a TU3. Work perfectly for a low B (or lower depending on the band - as low as an A in a previous band with no problems) and depending on the signal path you choose also works great as a kill switch Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DrBike Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 I had the Joyo copy of a PitchBlack and it died after a couple of months, whilst it worked it was OK. I then bought a Mooer Baby Tuner and I have to say that it's much better than the Joyo (and any other tuner I've used), it reacts almost instantly, has a very clear indicator and it's nice and bright so it's visible on stage. I also have a Zoom B3 that I use (mainly for practising) but it's much slower to react than the Mooer. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
