I joined bassworld back in 2002 when there were less than 100 members. I've seen it morph through various incarnations. If you search though web archives there is a snapshot of what bassworld was like.

I was very excited to find uk bass forum 'bass world'. My enthusiasm was diminished when I discovered there were only 16 other members.....

We may have invented it, but you guys had a higher level of appreciation for it.

The English introduced me to the blues, ironic but true.

I thought Humpty Dumpty invented Rock and Roll just before it hits the streets with a BIG splash. All we need to know now is his (or her) country of origin.

I am finding it interesting to hear about the process of evolution that has resulted in this forum. I never knew the antecedent forums or "fora" if you like people to think you were given an education that included Latin. It does explain why this place seems a bit more "real world" to me than many of the other cyberspace meeting platforms.

Well done, keep it up.

The following link contains some offensive language that some people may find unpleasant;

I would like to show recognition of the behind-the-scenes efforts that stopped something similar to the above happening to us.

Phew! We should ALL be grateful.

I think I joined bassworld in about 2003/4, I was a prolific poster for a time. Bass talk was kind of an interim measure until basschat came online. I remember waiting by the pc for it to come on, hence my low membership number. I looked at finnbass a bit too but it wasn't for me. I don't post so much these days as I find it's all been said, but I'm still here everyday, checking in.

I think I've been here right through the various incarnations too, at least long enough to roll my eyes when people grumble that it was "better in the old days".

Always been plenty of great advice and great discussion in amongst the oft-repeated usual stuff. Long may it continue!

Yes indeed! I too have been on board since BassWorld v.1 The Early Years. I think we actually knew everyone by their actual names back then too!!
