Surrpaul Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 My band have our first WMC club gig soon, and I'd like your interpretation on their fees. They want 15% +vat. So, if we get paid £1000, will they take £180 from us or £350? I'm sure it's the former, but our drummer seems to go with the latter. Someone clear this up for me. Quote
skidder652003 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 (edited) yes, 15% of £1000 is £150 plus VAT at 20% is an extra £30 so a total including VAT is £180. so you guys end up with £820 Good money if thats what it really is... Edited December 8, 2016 by skidder652003 Quote

ivansc Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 MY last experience with the MU (I was a member for many years way back when) was that they have slowly but surely shrunk their sphere of interest and therefore action to mostly pit players, orchestral players and folks who work in tv and to a lesser extent radio and film. Sad really. Quote

Luulox Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 With maths like that I would double check the drummers count ins too. 😊 Quote

ivansc Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Anyone know if MU still offer "free Public Liability insurance with membership"? Quote
