bluesparky Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I just saw this pop-up on my feed on facebook from The Great British Bass Lounge, is it a dig?! "Someone has just missed out on the historically important STATUS STRATA bass. No disrespect but you if you dither you miss out (ya looze if ya snooze as the grand kids say). That individual is very disappointed and i'm disappointed for him too. Yes, it was on the website for a while (and at a low price) but remember sods law...its like busses...they (buyers) all come along at once so, if you're after something, stop dithering and 'pull the trigger' to quote that oft used bit of jargon they seem to use on Basschat!!!!!" I hadn't realised we had a reputation for saying particular things! Quote
ped Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I think it's a fairly oft used expression, no more or less on Basschat than anywhere else. I don't know if the first bit of the post is to do with us or not, though. Weird. Quote
kodiakblair Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I've saw the term used on TB. How pressing "Buy It Now" or " Complete Order" turns them into big game hunters is beyond me . Quote
skb558 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 We need to take a helicopter view after some blue sky thinking. Give me strength. Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I'm not on facebook and haven't visited the bass lounge, I don't know anything about them. Quote
arthurhenry Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 It's trendy internet speak "I'm about to pull the trigger on a new P bass" etc. Like when people refer to inanimate objects as "bad boys". Quote
lurksalot Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 It sounds just sales banter to me , IIRC they are selling up and want shut of stock , so it's likely just positioning to encourage exposure and sales , seems like it is working !! Quote
