ras52
Borderline politics warning... Who do you think the highest profile artist Trump can muster will be? Or will he just go for massed military bands and choirs? Skybone
I do think his inauguration will rekindle the punk/angry/protest music, like Regan & Thatcher were great for the US & UK punk scene's.

[/quote] And Public Enemy- we certainly need somebody to articulate what's happening at the moment. I would love it if someone did the gig for a truck load of cash and used the opportunity to pillar him personally. mikel
I dont think it matters, we are doomed anyway. Not long after the B****t vote I was at a festival and a guy was selling T shirts. There were three statements with tick boxes alongside them. 1. Brexit........Ticked 2. Trump as President.......Empty (Now ticked) 3. Zombie apocalypse.....Empty (So far)
ezbass
He'll drum up some red neck musos, after all Ted 'mad as a hatstand' Nugent, Kid Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus were, or are, Trump supporters, so I'm sure there'll be some musical 'entertainment'. I fail to see why there has to be a concert of sorts for the inauguration, it just makes it seem more of circus in my eyes. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Cato
It's probably a commercial decision as much as anything for most artists. Given the bitterness and enmity in US politics they're probably reluctant to alienate 50% of their potential fan base.
skankdelvar
Well it won't be Kanye West, Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, Katie Perry, Christina Aguilera, Burt Bacharach, Tony Bennett, Jon Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Cher, Kelly Clarkson, Ellie Goulding, Ice-T, Ja Rule, Elton John, Quincy Jones, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Janelle Monae, Morrissey, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Sting, Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Usher, will.i.am and Stevie Wonder because they all endorsed Hillary, much good it did her in the end. Given that The Donald's taste in music tends towards classic rock perhaps Mr Dee Snider (Trump's good friend from The Apprentice) might be persuaded against his better judgement to volunteer the services of Twisted F*cking Sister. That said, Mr Snider 'performed' the song on stage at an Eric Trump charity gig in 2015 backed by the massed ranks of the Trump clan - including the man himself.
