Ashweb
Found this article on the BBC web site the other day... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-38135674 An interesting article about Darryl Jones, who was hired by the Rolling Stones as a bass player when Bill Wyman left in 1984 and has played on all albums and live shows since then - as a hired hand. Seems odd that you can play with a band for over thirty years, and not be part of the band.

The Rolling Stone are a very English Enterprise. You ain't English you'll never be a full member. Blue

mikel
Of course. To be a band member he would have to be. Short, skinny, ugly and immortal. Oh and English. But why bother with a full time bassist when you dont have to? Also, If you consider they still call Ronnie the new boy, Its a gang of mates and not open to just anyone. chris_b
The Stones are a family business. . . . Downton with more travelling and noise. You can't even get into the road crew. Even those jobs are handed down between generations.
