Ukrobbiej Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) Maybe I'm a bit behind with this news , but I was browsing the Spector website and noticed this new acoustic bass: http://www.spectorbass.com/TimbreSeries As the owner of a very nice acoustic bass guitar, I'm quite interested in this particular species of bass. These look remarkably like the Tacoma Thunder chief basses thatbare no longer in production, but are spoken of in very reverential terms whenever the topic of acoustic basses that "work" comes up.. stingrayPete1977 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Bolt on neck is unusual on an acoustic bass isn't? Quote
Ukrobbiej Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) Yeh, bolt on necks used to be a feature of the Tacoma basses. Found a YouTube clip of them, but it is a shame that the demo is only of the plugged in sound. Would love to know what these sound like purely acoustically. cetera Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 These have been out for a couple of months. Hoping to see one or more in Bass Direct so I can try them out.... or maybe at the Bass Show. Getting great reviews on the US bass sites though! Quote
