Woodinblack Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) This is Harley Bentons top of the range Jazz bass from thomman. One of these: https://www.thomann....n+jazz_304930_5 Obviously it is a particularly cheap range! Specifically it looks like this. This was the bass that I used when we had a group day out to crimson guitars in the south west and learned how to do neck setups and fret dressing, and as a result, this has a very well set up neck. It could do with a lower nut but we didn't have enough time for that. However, it plays well and the pickups sound great. It sounds pretty much like a Jazz bass should. The wilkinson pickups are particularly good. I have gigged this and it sounded great, but it has to be said it is quite heavy. Anyway, it has been sitting in the corner of my room for a year or so unplayed and I need to make some space. I suspect due to the weight and the cost that postage isn't practical, but happy to deliver somewhere within 20/30 miles of yeovil, or one of the major cities that I visit often (Bath / Bristol / Exeter) at a less regular interval, or local pickup. Offers also welcome, but not after any bass trades. Edited December 21, 2016 by Woodinblack
Harryburke14 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I own one and they are fantastic. The neck is amongst the best Ive held in terms of comfort and playability. GLWTS
therealting Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I got a Deko one for my school. Heavy too, and I'm not about to swap my Sadowsky for it but it is surprisingly - if not alarmingly - good for the money.
BaconCheese Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 These are great. Note that they use real traditional tonewoods. They tend to be a bit heavy, like 70s Fender basses.
