I have an Ernie Ball VP Jr vol pedal. Can I put a new pot in and turn it into an expression pedal?

I need an expression pedal. I do not need a volume pedal but the Ernie Ball seems nicely engineered so can I put a different pot in and make the magic happen? I have no idea about this stuff.

Was going to say - an insert cable will do you, in fact, I used my Ernie Ball volume pedal with a Mobius.
