Status MM-pickup?

I'm going to get a 5 string musicman style pickup for a Stingray 5 clone.
Has anyone tried a Status Graphite MM pickup?

Status pickups...I don't know. If it were my choice, I'd be talking to someone like Aaron Armstrong about a custom build.

How would that be, price-wise, compared with the Status ?

Nordstrand have a range of Stingray 5 replacements, including one with a 16.5mm spacing for OLP MM3 (just in case your Stingray 5 clone is one of these). Bassdirect stock them, and Delano too.

I thought a custom would be much pricier - interesting.

It's a custom built body and an original neck. Hipshot 17.5 mm bridge. Seymour Duncan "musicman" 3 band preamp.

It's going to be white. The orignal neck has a maple finger board.

I've got EMG ones in my Ray. I really like them. Clear and punchy, not quite as clanky.

How about some of those Pickups Martin Sims has started making? They sound great on the demo, just a suggestion

I got one of the Status MM pups in my Aria GT5 and if you are looking for the traditional MM sound well look somewhere else, these are made with bars instead of pole pieces and this means less magnetic pull. This means the strings can move more freely thus providing a fuller sound.

I like mine a lot.
