I'm supposed to be doing a little presentation on bass, the history of, the technical parts, some famous players, techniques, effects etc, can you guys reccommend any good websites for research etc?

There's plenty of webbos around detailing the history of the bass guitar and Wiki's always useful. Google and Wiki's all you'll need.
