ped
I was rather dissatisfied with my multi guitar stand which had very thin foam and was a bit wonky. I spotted this on eBay and, whilst overkill for transportation of my basses, it works as a really great guitar stand, with a much smaller footprint than the 'rack' I had before. It has wheels and is actually very light when empty. Made by Fender, I believe. There's a code lock on the top which is set to '0,0,0' at the moment - I don't know what the number is, or if there's any way to tell by looking at the inside of the lock when it's open? I'll message the seller to see if he knows what it is. Possibly better for me to not know, because I can see myself getting my basses locked in. Anyway having just received a brilliant Fusion Urban double gig bag I can safely say I now have every angle covered in terms of caseage Cheers ped
TheGreek
Lozz and I were looking at these (or something very similar) at last years LBGS - looked well built and the addition of wheels made them look like a good buy. JOOI what did you pay?
ped
That's one of the reasons I wanted one - I also saw them or something similar at the show. This was a bargain, £160 or thereabouts. http://www.scottdixoninc.com Are the most similar ones I've seen and remember them being very expensive. Lee-Man
I think these may have been made by Scott Dixon. The Scott Dixon one is about £500. You did well sir!
Yes that does seem to be the 'case' Where I can find them online they seem to be called the Fender 'Dixon' case and around £400 second hand... I notice the current Dixon case which has a slightly evolved divider system is now £600! I knew it was a bargain, and really useful too, with the wheels and what-not. Obviously mine is a bit dented here and there but it has stickers to say it's been handled by baggage men at Dubai Airport at some point. gelfin
If it opens and closes OK, 0.0.0. is probably the default number. Anyway, if you close it and move the numbers and it won't open you could treat it as a Christmas puzzle. Not to many permutations there. Muppet
How much does it weigh? I like that idea a lot. For the combination number, these locks normally have a tab on the inside that you pull out (or in) set the number to your chosen one then reset the tab to make your new number effective.
I see ok thanks, I'll have a look at it a bit more closely. The case is very light actually, all aluminium. Probably weighs about the same as an instrument.
