Good morning BassChat fellas,
I recently joined the Ibanez family and I would like to share a couple of new videos recorded with a brand new Ibanez BTB 1605 DTF, the first one recorded in my studio:

the second one, (I'm sorry iPhone quality) was shot on the road in a small venue gig:

Good morning BassChat friends,
I recently upgraded my Ibanez BTB 1605 with a couple of EMG 40DC and I uploaded two new videos testing how the pups sounds in a solo and in groove scenario:

the first one, a bass cover by Marcus Miller - Mr Pastorius:

the second one, a bass recording session:

Nice, it is really amazing how Ibanez can make these high quality basses for a fraction of what you would pay "boutique".

Have had BTB gas for a while now, this is not helping :)

Did you keep the stock preamp or did you upgrade that too?

Hey man, I'm happy you like the video and I definitely agree with you, the money they ask for these basses are worth to the last cent because the ratio quality/price is awesome.

Another thing that is very good on this bass is the preamp, it was already good with the Nordstrand, even if they aren't my favorite pups, so I kept it.
When you set the preamp flat and you switch it off, the tone is equal, so with the EMG now, with preamp off the tone is perfect for standard fingerstyle and, this let me set already the preamp for a different tone, slap, solos or anything else, just with the switch, and make a bit easier the live scenario..

I wish they still made the 4 string version :(
Funny to think that when they were introduced they were aimed at the drop-tuned metal players!

I agree with you man, a four strings would be nice. Definitely, at the begin it was highly considered for rock and metal players, I remember that :D

Good morning BassChat fellas and Ibanez lovers :D
Just uploaded a couple of short videos with my BTB during some practicing in my studio and I would like to share with you all.

The first one is about dubbing a sax line, I like how the BTB sounds on a horn unison, a punchy depth tone with crispy highs..

The second using the muting bass on a funky groove, a very aggressive tone despite the palm muting technique

Hope you guys will enjoy it!
Ciao. Enrico

Very nice playing and a great sound, shows off your talent :)
Note: I love the Aguilar pups and Ibby pre-amp in my BTB1805. I also love the ergonomics too as it is very comfortable and easy to play. I notice that you position it in the same way that I do when sitting and on the strap the neck sits up high easily, which helps my dodgy joints.

Thank you man, I appreciate it :) . I definitely agree with you, they made great upgrades on the 1805, I had the chance to play it quickly and I noticed several improvements, first of all, as you find out, the body ergonomics, now easier to play especially when sitting and the aguilar pups with the now the three band mid selector is a great step forward!
I hope to watch soon some of your videos with the BTB!

Here it is a new video my Ibanez fellas 🙂

My BTB1605DTF never sounded like that. The pickups are certainly an improvement over the Nordys. Great playing by the way

Thank you 😊 and yes, I wasn't a big fan of the Nordys the BTB originally have. Two much middles to my hears and very low signal, I remember that my regular fender jazz bass had way more volume.

The EMG was a great improvement, even with the factory preamp.

Thank you for watching.
