Boss OC-2 helicopter

I recently aquired a Boss OC-2.

It's a Japanese one from 1987 and it's wonderful.

The person I got it from said before he sent it that it had misbehaved, and then sorted itself.

But, I've plugged it in with a fresh battery, and then tried my diago power supply and it's making a low frequency helicopter noise.

Anyone else had this?

Any recommendations for a pedal fixer?
