This bass looks interesting

If it really does have a 25.5" scale, seems to me that design is almost certainly a bastardised guitar rather than an instrument designed as a bass.

That was my thinking but I did my want to sound harsh. Lol.

I think its interesting enough to worth some merit. But certainly not £850 not even close.
And the overpricing award goes to the infamous Tennessee bass still on eBay.

Probably short on materials and/or decided to cut costs, By using a modified guitar design as you say.

Perhaps, but I saw a Futurama up at £600 not so long back.
I put mine in the skip, they really were that sh*te.
