Kevin Dean
I normally use 2 Ashdown 12" Rootmaster cabs with 700w Sica drivers , I've just ordered from here a Ashdown 4 x 8" 8 ohm cab for another project . both are ported & Have a tweeter , I know there are loads of things to take into account , But take a guess on what one moves the most air the 2 x12" cabs or the 4 x 8 " cab ..The winner will get a ice cream next time the're on the IoW
Bill Fitzmaurice
Guessing is all one can do when they don't know the driver Vd specs. If one does have that spec then one doesn't have to guess, one knows. Manufacturers love to brag on watts, which is so much useless information, while not revealing what actually matters. bazzbass
without knowing the speaker attributes, I'll guess the 4x 8s
Kev
I'd guess the 4x8 or I otherwise don't really get the point of this thread How did you measure how much air is 'moved'?
LukeFRC
Rootmaster is one of ashdown's lower end ranges, the 4*8 was from their ABM line - so I think the 4*8 Used to use one regularly with the mini 1*15 they used to make. Was alright, heavier than you would think but sounded nice. I preferred it to the 1*15.
