Bridgehouse Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Hello! Returning to bass playing after many years. I played in a function band back in my Uni days in the early 90's and I've been on smaller fretted instruments since then. Decided it was time to get back into Bass to try something different for gigging. I'm pretty sure the Bass I had back in the 90's was a Peavey.. but it was borrowed from a friend at the time and I can't remember which one it was...! However, decided to get a Bass that I've always wanted so picked up an EBMM Stingray 4 3EQ in Natural w/Maple Neck. Yum. Loving it and glad to be back! Quote
Bridgehouse Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 Well, I've put D'Addario Chromes on now. Loving it even more..! Quote
Andyjr1515 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 That's a GREAT bass to help you get you back into it Quote
Bridgehouse Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 Thanks guys - it's starting to come back and I'm having a hoot in the process! All this active eq stuff is quite different to what I'm used to! Quote
machinehead Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 That's the perfect Stingray. Lovely. Frank. Quote
Bridgehouse Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016
Awesome It even has tort
You know, at first I wasn't sure - but I've seen the light and the tort is great. Much better than black with natural finish I think.. Quote
grayn Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 A truly beautiful bass. Fantastic choice. If that doesn't get you back into bass playing, nothing will. Congrats. Quote

Using a Helix as an audio interface and amp with a couple of studio monitors so I can play along to plenty of tunes is helping tho...! Edited December 29, 2016 by Bridgehouse Quote
spongebob Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Gorgeous. One bass I never got around to owing is a Stingray. Can't think why, they look (and sound) amazing. Enjoy! Quote

scrumpymike Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Welcome back - is that the one they had in Jaywalk Guitars in Street? Quote
Bridgehouse Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 No - bought it online. Project Music I think. Quote
scrumpymike Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 I'm sure you'll be well pleased - I played the one at Jaywalk and loved it. Quote
Bridgehouse Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Yep - it's really rather good. It's certainly better than my borrowed one back in the early 90s - I should try and track one down, if only for nostalgia purposes Quote
