How this song seamlessly changes genres is fantabulous!

Isn't it just. And want to see a photo of who I really singing, rather than just miming for the video?

I tell no lie... Winchester's finest... Jon Allen!

There are so many, some of the best that spring to my mind are:

Yes - America
Johnny Winter - Jumpin' Jack Flash and Highway 61 Revisited
Thin Lizzy - Whiskey in the Jar
RHCP - Higher Ground
Finally, I saw this on the TV on Tuesday. I had no idea the George Michael had covered it; the bass playing is sublime -

Yes, the Heart cover is great.
I also like the duo 'Rodrigo y Gabriela', seen them a couple of times live and they play great.

A couple of Beatles covers I really like....

you'll like a cover if it's song you like done in a genre you like, for me Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is the daddy of them all, and if you've just landed from the planet Zog

There are some pretty good contenders here:

Not that I have an entry myself this month or anything ;)

I don't know about 'greatest ever' but I prefer these covers over the originals:

I must be one of the few who doesn't like Cocker's rendition of With a Little Help. There's no doubting that he's a good singist, but I find the slowed down whining version doesn't tick the boxes for me. Which is weird, because I do like his other stuff.
