ezbass
There are so many, some of the best that spring to my mind are: Yes - America Johnny Winter - Jumpin' Jack Flash and Highway 61 Revisited Thin Lizzy - Whiskey in the Jar RHCP - Higher Ground Finally, I saw this on the TV on Tuesday. I had no idea the George Michael had covered it; the bass playing is sublime - http://youtu.be/a5zt-AEryKc

PaulWarning
you'll like a cover if it's song you like done in a genre you like, for me Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is the daddy of them all, and if you've just landed from the planet Zog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLV4_xaYynY&list=PLsgN5r88gaaVIx9qvybey6XI7ulNN5Mx1

xgsjx
I must be one of the few who doesn't like Cocker's rendition of With a Little Help. There's no doubting that he's a good singist, but I find the slowed down whining version doesn't tick the boxes for me. Which is weird, because I do like his other stuff.
